Q: What is your mailing address and telephone number?
A: Producers Incorporated, 11806 North 56th Street, Tampa, FL 33617-1652 / (813) 988-8333
Q: What is your Federal ID number?
A: 54-1155685
Q: I see several artists on your roster that I also
see on other agencies' rosters. How can they be represented by more than one
agency? Do you go to another agency to secure them? Does
it cost me extra money to book from you?
A: We deal directly with the artists on our roster, or
with their personal managers. The fees we negotiate are the lowest the artist
authorizes us to accept. Some artists, especially big bands, believe they can
secure more bookings by not being exclusive with one agency, and allow multiple
agencies to book them, though some of those agencies may book very few dates for
them. This works to your advantage, for you can choose to work with the agency
which gives you the best service. That's why we work so diligently to provide
the best service in the industry. We historically give presenters the best deal anywhere.
Q: Why don't you include the artists'
fees with the rest of their information?
A: An artist's fee is somewhat flexible, so it is
problematic to quote a fee online. Many elements dictate what the fee must be,
such as travel and routing. It is more expensive for an artist located on the
West Coast to perform an isolated date on the East Coast than to perform one on
the West Coast. If dates are booked together, which are geographically and
chronologically close, the artist is able to amortize tour expenses and pass
that savings on to the presenter.
Q: What happens after I submit my
offer via email, or online?
A: The terms of your offer are reviewed by your agent at
Producers, Incorporated. If there are questions, you are contacted and the
questions are resolved. Your offer is then submitted to the artist. When we receive
a response from the artist we communicate that response to you. When the terms of
your offer are mutually approved by you and the artist, our contract office
creates an agreement, which is then forwarded to you for your signature.
Q: Who do I call to obtain promotional
material?
A: You call the Producers, Incorporated office at
813-988-8333.
Q: If I want to set up an
interview to help in promoting my engagement, who do I call?
A: You call the Producers, Incorporated office at
813-988-8333.
Q: Who do I call to obtain information
on a contract?
A: You call the Producers, Incorporated office at
813-988-8333, or email
kathy@producersinc.com
Q: Which copy of the contract
do I return to Producers, Inc.?
A: After signing both copies and initialing and dating
any changes and/or additions, you make a copy for your temporary records and
return both original copies and all attachments of the contract to
Producers, Inc. The information questionnaire accompanying the contract requests
information that is vital for the artist. Complete it and return it with the
contract.
Q: After I receive the agreement, how soon do I need
to return it?
A: Return both original signed copies and all attachments
as soon as possible, but no later than the return date specified at the bottom
of the Basic Agreement.
Q: I have lost my contract. What do
I do?
A: This is an aggravation, but not an unresolvable
problem. If you have lost your copy of the fully executed agreement, first, be
certain you have made a thorough search to find it. We can supply you a copy,
but not an original of the fully executed agreement. If you have not
returned signed documents to us and have lost the packet we originally sent you,
we will be happy to replace that material for you. There will be a $25 charge
to cover the cost of the duplicate processing.
Q: If I have problems with the artist's
rider, who do I call?
A: Always call Producers Inc. first. We will discuss the
problems with you and resolve them, either immediately while talking with you,
or by referring you to the artist's representative who can solve your problems.
Q: If I cancel the date, do I get
my deposit back?
A: A cancellation can have some serious financial
consequences, not only for you, but for the artist. Therefore, if feasible, we
will make every effort to reschedule the event for you and save your deposit.
Every engagement has its own unique circumstances. Part of the challenge of
scheduling engagements for an artist is structuring dates and routing that will
be efficient and economical for you and the artist. Quite often the loss
suffered by the artist from a cancellation is not covered by the deposit. There
are occasions when one cancellation will impact a series of dates and place them
all in jeopardy.
Q: If I have to change the venue
of my show, what do I do?
A: Call Producers, Inc. You will discover our agents are
very sympathetic to any problem you may encounter, and able to resolve the
most serious difficulties.
Q: What is a DPK?
A: DPK is short for Digital Press Kit, or Digital
Publicity Kit. It is a term seen frequently now. We believe it is a term we
coined here at P.I. a number of years ago when this agency was the first to
provide publicity material in digital format on a CD. We made a heavy investment
in equipment and software a few years ago to mass produce DPKs here in our
office. We now have DPKs available for many of the artists we represent.
Q: What is a PDF file?
A: PDF (portable document format) is a widely-used
standardized format for online documents used "around the
world for more secure, reliable electronic document distribution and exchange."
